Long time vegetarian and country music superstar Carrie Underwood took the time out of her busy schedule to present the Pittsburgh Animal Rescue League with a $10,000 check on April 1.

Underwood, who’s “Play On” tour made a stop in the “Steel City” Thursday, has partnered with Pedigree in support of the company’s sixth annual Adoption Drive.

“I can’t imagine life without my dog, Ace,” said Underwood earlier this year. “I’ve had a passion for animals my entire life. They’re such sweet and gentle souls that love you just because you love them back. That’s why I’m really excited about the opportunity to partner with The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive to help get other people involved in this important cause.”

The Grammy Award winning artist will make her next tour stop in Pikeville, KY on April 3.
