Nickelodeon to honor First Lady Michelle Obama for ‘Let’s Move’ initiative

First Lady Michelle Obama’s leadership and hard work on her campaign to end America’s childhood obesity epidemic called Let’s Move! is about to receive some recognition. Nickelodeon has announced it will present the First Lady with the Big Help Award during the network’s 23rd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.

"First Lady Michelle Obama has taken on one of this generation's most pressing concerns: the health and wellness of our nation's children," said the Executive Vice President, Public Affairs and Chief of Staff, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, Marva Smalls. "Her willingness to work hard, influence others and her dedication to improving the nation is inspiring, and we are proud to honor her for her commitment to empowering kids and families to address one of the most important issues of today."

According to the official website, the Let’s Move! initiative “will give parents the support they need, provide healthier food in schools, help our kids to be more physically active, and make healthy, affordable food available in every part of our country.”

Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards will air Saturday March 27.
