Animal Planet and Mike Tyson under investigation for ‘Taking on Tyson’

Animal Planet and Mike Tyson are targets in an illegal gambling investigation after the District Attorney in Brooklyn received a letter from PETA claiming the production of “Taking on Tyson” violates New York gambling laws.

According to TMZ, Animal Planet claims there will be no wagering on the show, but a rep for PETA insists any money made off of animal racing, including Tyson’s salary, is illegal.

Taking On Tyson” plans to take audiences behind the scenes of the competitive world of pigeon rearing and racing. The show is expected to start filming in New York City this spring with a premier in early 2011.
