Clad in a pure white pant suit, vegetarian Carrie Underwood sang the National Anthem for Super Bowl XLIV. While she may have gone a bit flat in the end, she did a fantastic job throughout most of the performance, sticking with a powerful traditional rendition.
In a recent interview in SELF magazine, Underwood credited her meatless diet for giving her energy when she performs.

I watched Carrie Underwood sing the SSB last night at the Super Bowl. She is a great performer, but her SSB was mediocre, at best, when compared to the Cactus Cuties version. I guess being a 5 time Grammy-award-winner out ranks, "being able to sing the song great". Maybe next year the Cuties can do it right in Super Bowl XLV.
