Nicole Lapin will join CNBC’s "Worldwide Exchange" as a U.S. anchor in mid-January. The business program, which is broadcast in more than 100 countries, airs Monday through Friday, 4 a.m. – 6 a.m. ET and features anchors from the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

"Nicole’s experience and talent make her a great addition to CNBC," said Jeremy Pink, Senior Vice President Business News, CNBC. "’Worldwide Exchange’ is an integral part of CNBC’s global coverage and Nicole will bring a fresh perspective on business news."

A longtime vegetarian, Lapin converted to veganism in 2002. In a recent exposé for CNN, the 25-year-old reported on the Humane Society’s efforts to get downer pigs removed from the food supply. In 2009, she was named one of the "20 under 30" influential vegetarians by VegNews Magazine.
