Jailed terrorist suspect and alleged al-Qaida member, Ghulam Rasool Khan, is refusing the vegetarian fare offered to him by his Indian captors and PETA blogger Logan Scherer uses the situation to further link human violence against animals to human violence against humans.

Khan, who was arrested last week while attempting to cross into Bangladesh, has requested two kg of mutton and one kg of chicken daily. He has threatened a hunger strike if his demands are not met.

Scherer writes the following response to Khan's carnivorous requisition:

“Behold: a visit from Captain Obvious. As if the world needed another example of the proven link between violence against animals and violence against humans, Ghulam Rasool Khan—a suspected al-Qaida member jailed in India—refuses to eat the vegetarian food served to him, instead demanding ‘two kg of mutton and one kg of chicken daily.’”

Scherer also utilizes the opportunity to highlight a previous PETA blog post titled “It’s a fact: Most Violent Offenders Victimize Animals, Then Humans.”

The article, published December of last year, offers to tie serial killers violent proclivities toward animals to eventual human to human violence.
