Bubble Wrap turns 50 years old as today is anointed “Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day” but let us not forget to appreciate our planet as well by either reusing or recycling this iconic packaging product.

The manufacturer of Bubble Wrap, Sealed Air Corp, suggests reusing the material as often as possible. According to the company’s website:

“Sealed Air utilizes a manufacturing process that co-extrudes a nylon barrier with the polyethylene for better air retention which increases its useful life expectancy. The best way to keep materials out of the waste stream is to use them as long as possible.”

Sealed Air offers 7 different locations to recycle the product if you believe you can no longer reuse it. Visit their website here for a list of those facilities.

Properly disposing of products like Bubble Wrap helps keep our environment safe for humans and animals alike.
